FAIRBANKS, OVERNIGHT
Arrive in Fairbanks and transfer to the hotel on your own. You have
the rest of the day free to tour the Golden Heart of Alaska. Only 150
miles south of the Arctic Circle, and a fount of Gold Rush history,
Fairbanks boasts numerous fun experiences. You may choose to spend the
day visiting the University of Alaska Museum, or riding the popular,
narrated sternwheeler cruise. Overnight in Fairbanks
McKINLEY
EXPLORER RAIL TO DENALI NATIONAL PARK
Early this morning, board the McKinley Explorer Rail for a scenic
four-hour ride south to Denali National Park. Step back in history as
you climb aboard for one of the most scenic rail journeys in the
world. This afternoon, we travel into the Park on a private wildlife
safari. Your guide teaches you techniques to "spot" moose, caribou,
grizzly bear, Dall sheep and a variety of bird life. The friendly
staff at your hotel welcome you. Overnight near the Park entrance. S
SCENIC
FLIGHT FROM DENALI NATIONAL PARK TO WILDERNESS LODGE
The sights you can't see from below, you see from above! Enjoy viewing
Mt.McKinley at its own level, and watching herds of migrating caribou
swarming below. This breathtaking flight soars over sharp granite
peaks and expanses of glaciers to touch down at the Denali Wilderness
Lodge. Only accessible by plane, this remote, environmentally aware

WILDERNESS LODGE
Immerse yourself in Alaska's wild country. Join knowledgeable guides
on half-day or full-day hikes. You can explore this rugged terrain on
a horseback ride led by an experienced ranger, learn how to track
wildlife, take a guided nature hike, or relax with a good book in the
classic hand-hewn log lodge. Overnight at Lodge. BLD
FLIGHT
TO DENALI ENTRANCE, McKINLEY EXPLORER RAIL TO ANCHORAGE
After a free morning at the Lodge, fly back to the Park entrance. This
afternoon, board the McKinley Explorer Rail. Along today's journey you
pass Hurricane Gulch, the highest bridge on the famed Alaska Rail. You
transcend the tree line through magnificent Broad Pass, carved by
glaciers thousands of years ago. Your eight-hour rail trip brings you
to Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. In Anchorage, you are met at the
rail depot and transferred to your hotel. The evening is free for you
to explore Anchorage on your own. Overnight in Anchorage. B

RETURN HOME
Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight home. Bon
