- THE
MOST IN-DEPTH ADVENTURE CRUISE IN GLACIER BAY AND ICY STRAIT - The
Wilderness Explorer is the only overnight cruise vessel that offers
kayaking in Glacier Bay National Park and our only vessel to focus
exclusively on the Glacier Bay region.

MOST ACTIVE WILDERNESS-ONLY CRUISE ADVENTURE - Enjoy hours of
backcountry exploration in areas accessible only by sea kayak and

Flexibility
is one of the Wilderness Explorer's greatest benefits. Without a rigid
schedule to maintain, the captain is free to go where the beauty, wildlife
and adventure is, even if that means a slightly different itinerary on
every voyage. Generally speaking, two days each will be spent exploring
the areas of Glacier Bay National Park and Icy Strait. We operate under a
special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service, Department of
Agriculture, within the Tongass National Forest and visit up-close places
most will only dream of. The Wilderness Explorer will pause at select
sites in Glacier Bay and along Icy Strait for your off-vessel activities. |

Icy
Strait
or Glacier Bay National Park
Spend
your days exploring by sea kayak and hikes ashore among the
wildlife-rich areas of Icy Strait. On either side of this pristine
waterway, are tiny inlets and isolated coves perfect for your
backcountry off-vessel expeditions. Plus, Icy Strait is a prime
viewing area for humpback whales. |

 |
Glacier
Bay National Park
or Icy Strait
Because
we spend so much time in Glacier Bay, our Captain and crew are experts
on secret, out-of-the-way places that offer the greatest likelihood for
wildlife, discovery and adventure.
One full day will be entirely devoted to glacier viewing, nature
photography, natural history interpretation and observing wildlife in
its natural environment. Glacier Bay is home to 12 tidewater glaciers
including Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers. The Park is also home to
an abundance of marine life and thousands of sea birds. Sea lions,
seals, porpoise and three species of whales, the humpback, orca and
minke, ply these pristine waters.
