4 Day Bartle Frere Wilderness Walk H1
Rainforest Adventure
Grade: ModerateDay 1: Travel from Cairns to the Highland Rainforest of Lake Eacham. After your evening meal, take part in nocturnal animal viewing and discuss the next days. Accomm: Lake Eacham Hotel
Day 2: 7:00am start. Travel into the Bartle Frere Forest and walk along Ancient Aboriginal rainforest trails and swim in crystal clear mountain streams before reaching camp for the night. After freshening up, a hot meal and discussing the days events, you snuggle into your sleeping bag.
Hammock CampDay 3: A relaxed start to the day walking without a pack. Discover giant trees, tranquil pools, huge epiphytes, tassel ferns and carnivorous plants, returning to the Moochoopa Falls campsite for your evening meal. Hammock Camp
Day 4: After a hearty breakfast, cross mountain streams, explore the moss covered forests along the base of Mt. Bartle Frere (the highest mountain in Queensland). Pickup by nightfall and return to Cairns.
DEPARTURES: Tour operates all year every Wednesday commencing at 10.30am, returning Saturday at 7.00pm
